about KRATOS
Do you like odd numbers? Have a soft spot for tripods? Meet the three-legged wonder dog, Kratos!!
Kratos is named after the Greek god of divine strength, which we thought fitting for this resilient pup. He came to the rescue with one of his back legs amputated and is adapting well to this new way of living. Some people don’t even notice he is missing a leg when they first meet him!
For the most part, Kratos gets around pretty well! He is a pro at navigating the stairs and will get on and off furniture all on his own. He will come with a handy dandy harness that can be used to give him a little boost when he needs it, which is especially helpful when getting him in and out of vehicles. Kratos will need to go to a home dedicated to helping him maintain a healthy weight and providing him with the supplements he needs to live a long and happy life. Despite all this, he still gets zoomies in the backyard, and one of his favorite things is rolling around in the grass! Not that into exercise? No problem! A short walk around the block or some mental stimulation is more than enough to keep this pup happy.
Kratos is the perfect mix of cuddle bug and class clown. He loves nothing more than to snuggle with you on the couch, on the floor... Wherever you are is just fine with him! He also likes to roll around on the couch and play. When he is excited, he may even "woo" for you. He has yet to find a person he doesn't like; you'll know by the force of his tail! Not a lot seems to bother this guy and it is rare that you see him without a smile. Loud vehicles, airplanes and other sudden loud noises are not his favorite (I mean, does anybody really like them?). He shakes this off quickly and is back to his happy-go-lucky self in a flash. While he may not be the best hiking buddy, he will gladly binge-watch your favorite show with you any day.
Kratos has been the perfect gentleman so far in his foster home! He has had no accidents in or outside his crate and is not destructive in the house. Kratos is remarkable about his daily crate time and will sometimes sleep there at night. He will occasionally whine a little since his favorite place is anywhere close to you but is usually calm and quiet. He has earned the privilege of sleeping in bed with his foster mom and sister and just snoozes the night away. Personal space does not exist when he is in bed next to you! Left to his own devices alone in a room, Kratos is super chill and typically spends his time relaxing or chewing on a bone. He is fully integrated with his foster sister, who he gets along with splendidly. While he does not live with any, he is also cat and small dog tested!
Please don't let his three legs deter you... If you do, you are missing out! This dog is truly one in a million and wants nothing more than your affection. He is the perfect reminder to remain positive, no matter what life throws at you. So, if you're ready for a silly lovebug that's aged to perfection, Kratos might be the right man for you.
