about ike
Who Let the puppies out!!!!! Who needs more chaos in their life? Ike has made the super scary trip to South Dakota for a chance of a better life. His start in life was not so fun. Out of three puppies to a malnourished momma dog chained up outside with little food or water he is one of two to survive. Then the poor dude lived through a hurricane! Bravest pup ever.
Like Hurricane Ike, this young man is learning his heart is the size of Texas with a voice to match. Ike came to his foster family knowing next to nothing, but is learning his basic commands of Sit and Look, how to wear his gentle leader, how to settle down, and the importance of wait. Ike can easily become frustrated when learning new things, but with some patience and consistency he is a very smart little boy.
Ike loves to lay on his dog bed and enjoy a good chew session, especially while we had the warm autumn sun available. While Ike can be a busy boy he also enjoys quiet cuddle times with his family, both two and four legged alike.
Ike is working on his kennel skills, when to potty outside, and how to enjoy how to be a loved member of the family. Ike does still have accidents, but week by week he has learned we don’t have to live in our own mess anymore. A family that is able to accommodate more frequent bathroom breaks and provide a consistent schedule will be helpful!
Ike currently lives with two adult pittie foster siblings, a human sibling, and his sister Zeta. Ike is still very much a puppy and will require a family that is dedicated to helping him learn to handle his impulses and set clear boundaries to teach his manners to match his charming good looks.
What do you say? Are you ready for this mini-Hurricane to shake up your life?

Reminder: puppies are like new born babies! A LOT of work and even when “raised right” we give no guarantees to who their individual personalities will develop into as adults. We are looking for families who clearly understand this and willing to “wow” us with their canine leadership and knowledge. Love will need to be guaranteed for LIFE, not just when they are small, cute, and cuddly.
