about gLORIA
SEPR Gloria may be named after a hurricane but this sweet girl is anything but stormy! This teeny little girl came to South Dakota on a transport from Georgia right after Hurricane Helene. Somehow, Gloria, her puppies, and all of her fellow shelter mates escaped the hurricane’s wrath, so we knew she deserved a life of safety and relaxation here in the Midwest.
Having never lived in a house before, Gloria has been having lots of firsts. She has experienced her first bath, her first night snuggled in to comfy blankets, the first toys of her very own, and of course, her first family. She has proven to be such a brave girl! We call her cautiously brave. She wants to try new things and is up for anything but will approach slowly and always has a watchful eye learning and studying all around her. We have already seen her grow leaps and bounds and we know that in a loving home her confidence will continue to blossom!
All of Gloria‘s studies have definitely paid off for her! She is quickly learning good house etiquette, how to walk well on a leash with her foster sister when out and about, and how to relax with her humans. Gloria lives life with puppy exuberance combined with patience and a very sweet disposition. She has definitely won the hearts of those she has met so far!
Gloria loves to spend time with her humans. She is learning how to play and be a dog. Once she understands a new game or a new activity, she participates enthusiastically. She will often get the zoomies when she is excited and it’s just the cutest when she tucks her little booty and runs her fastest! Gloria is also a fan of chewing on Nyla bones and has been learning things that dogs are allowed to chew on and things that are for humans.
This girl is a huge fan of toys! If it rolls, squeaks, or moves Gloria would love to check it out! She is a pretty avid chewer though, so durable toys are a must, but she is so easy to redirect when needed or if you need to swap out a toy.
Currently, Gloria lives with two teens and she loves all people! Her vigorous wiggle butt speaks loudly when she meets someone new or gets to see those she loves! At this time, due to her careful nature and because everything is new for her, she does sometimes get spooked easily, so it may be better for her to go to a home with older children. Gloria also lives with a big dog and two small dogs. She enjoys the company of all of her canine siblings and has the potential to live successfully with other dogs.
In her short stay in South Dakota, Gloria has been making up for lost time. She is full of joy and is enjoying learning how to be a dog in a loving home. Gloria wants to find a family who is interested in playing with her, going for walks, taking her for car rides, and snuggling on the couch. Could you be Gloria’s forever family? She would love to meet you!
