about gLORIA
SEPR Gloria may be named after a hurricane but this sweet girl is anything but stormy! This teeny little girl came to South Dakota on a transport from Georgia right after Hurricane Helene. Somehow, Gloria, her puppies, and all of her fellow shelter mates escaped the hurricane’s wrath, so we knew she deserved a life of safety and relaxation here in the Midwest.
Having never lived in a house before, Gloria has been having lots of firsts. She has experienced her first bath, her first night snuggled in to comfy blankets, the first toys of her very own, and of course, her first family. She has proven to be such a brave girl! We call her cautiously brave. When Gloria first arrived we could tell she wanted to try new things and was up for anything but she would approach slowly and always had a watchful eye learning and studying all around her.
As she has acclimated to family life, she continues her observant nature, enjoying spending time relaxing with her family on the couch or patiently waiting by their side as they complete various tasks around the house. Gloria loves to be part of anything her family is doing and gets so excited to be called over or wanted!
All of Gloria‘s studies around her foster home have definitely paid off for her! She is very quickly learning good house etiquette, how to walk well on a leash with her foster sister when out and about, and how to relax with her humans. Gloria lives life with puppy exuberance (for about 5 minutes) combined with patience and a very sweet disposition. She has definitely won the hearts of those she has met so far!
Gloria loves to spend time with her humans. She is learning how to play and be a dog. Once she understands a new game or a new activity, she participates enthusiastically. Sometimes, she will get the zoomies when she is excited and it’s just the cutest when she tucks her little booty and runs her fastest! Gloria is also a fan of chewing on Nyla bones and has been learning things that dogs are allowed to chew on and things that are for humans. One of the great things about Gloria though, is that she is very easy to redirect and she learns so quickly.
Currently, Gloria lives with two teens and she loves all people! Her vigorous wiggle butt speaks loudly when she meets someone new or gets to see those she loves! Gloria also lives with a big dog and two small dogs. She enjoys the company of all of her canine siblings and has the potential to live successfully with other dogs, but would also be quite content to be an only dog as long as she got to spend lots of time with her humans.
In her short stay in South Dakota, Gloria has been making up for lost time. She is full of joy and is enjoying learning how to be a dog in a loving home. Gloria wants to find a family who is interested in playing with her, going for walks, taking her for car rides, snuggling on the couch and just spending time with her. Could you be Gloria’s forever family? She would love to meet you!
