We’ve all heard the saying, “Good things come to those who wait.”  Well, we are just so very thankful that we didn’t wait much longer to rescue this handsome guy. Farley was saved from euthanasia at the very last moment and boy would the world have missed out on the best senior guy around had we secured a foster home much later!

 

Farley’s full-time foster family wasn’t quite ready for him when we picked him up from the shelter, so Farley had a couple of temporary foster placements before he met his new foster family and everyone has the exact same thing to say about this boy. He is just so happy!

 

As a senior bulldog guy, likely nine or 10, Farley isn’t going to bother you with any puppy antics. He has shown us though that he is an avid chewer on appropriate dog things like Nyla bones. He also likes to play with plush toys and give those a little chew. There is still plenty of fun to be had by this guy!

 

Farley is pretty easy-going and also fairly independent, but he really does have the cutest snuggle around! When he wants some attention, he will come and bury his head right into your leg or your lap and nuzzle right in. It’s almost like he’s giving you a little hug!

 

Farley did arrive a fairly chunky monkey so he is currently on a diet. He gets a smaller amount of kibble along with some veggies. He’s not a big fan of the veggies yet, but will likely come around, the more he is exposed to them. You can tell he’s already starting to feel a little better with a little less weight to haul around, and we are confident that he will be much happier and healthier a few months down the road.

 

Some other things we’ve already learned about this handsome fella is that he enjoys car rides, especially with the window down a bit enjoying the fresh air. He is an excellent kitchen buddy who will just lay around and watch you busy about. He also seems to really enjoy his kennel time and will run right over when it’s time to rest and hop right in.

 

We are learning more about this sweetheart every day, so check back as we will continue to update his information. Clearly though, Farley is an amazing dog that deserves stability and love in his senior years.
